Andrew heard a burst of gunfire, not far away. The sound resonated through the chambers so it was difficult to determine its point of origin. Wherever it came from it could only mean trouble.

“What was that?” he said, then to Teddy, “You, go check that out.”

“Right away, boss,” said Teddy, heading through the archway where Steel had taken William and Ross only moments before. He was smiling as he walked.

The place sure was creepy. There was loads of old stonework as though this place had once been used during medieval times. There were various posters in frames on the walls, some of them from famous movies. Teddy was able to recognise a few. The type of movies he was educated most about were not featured on the walls.

He grinned as he walked, practically floating down the corridor. It felt great to be part of the Brotherhood, to be feared, to have respect, to have hard men watching his back.

The stone corridor seemed to be leading downwards. Teddy had heard that there was an entire under city to Edinburgh, where outcasts and the homeless used to live about two hundred years ago. Apparently they had a life expectancy of less than one year due to the horrible conditions, which included smoke filled air due to the fires in each chamber and poor ventilation, malnutrition, lack of sunlight (they would be arrested if they were found on the surface), and also the fact that many criminals and murderers who were on the run would hide in the under city. It was also known as the Vaults.

Teddy wondered if that was where he was headed now. He hoped it was him who discovered Gabriel, and got him back for the Brotherhood. How sweet would that be? He would be a hero.

He wanted that a lot. Certainly much better than being filmed in dingy little studios, having intercourse with strangers he had just been paired with. Sometimes it was alright, if it was a hot bird and she was clearly in to him. But other times the girl was absolutely caked in makeup, because as it turned out a lot of the girls in porn had terrible skin. Other times he would be paired with a guy. He didn’t enjoy that, he wasn’t even bi-sexual, but the money was really good so he never turned those jobs down.

Throughout his entire porn career he had always had the satisfaction of knowing those wankers at home were wishing they were him, were wishing they were the one fucking the girl he was fucking. In the case of him being with a man he told himself he was still being admired by men (and not a few girls) but this time for different reasons.

Teddy was at the stair case they had walked down minutes before. What he saw brought him to a stop. Not Gabriel, but almost as good. It was Emerald, Gabriel’s woman.

Teddy paused, stunned to see her here. Emerald looked terrified, but still she had come to this place.
